On Monday 27th January we met in the art gallery in DGLAM, were after an initial look at the exhibitions on permanent display, we moved to look at the temporary exhibition by two local artists of very different styles. We chose two landscapes and recorded the detail of each using restricted colours and different materials. We were not trying to reproduce the paintings, rather to record the important detail. The materials used were first of all one fibre tipped marker pen, then two coloured pencils, neither of which corresponded with the colours of the original. We will use these sketches in our next meeting at Prego, to start our own landscape acrylic paintings, based on the information we recorded in the art gallery. Roll on next session!
