On Sunday 3rd March fifteen of us met in the Beefeater pub car park at Lakeside at 11.00 a.m. in preparation for a walk around the lake. Now if you are vaguely interested in joining us on future walks don’t be daunted. There was no expectation at all that you did the full circuit around the lake. This group is for the ‘gentle strollers’ so it’s exactly that. You do as much or as little as you want and feel able to do. Some did the whole circuit and others just a small section.

Some of our group have a range of mobility aids to help them get out and about and assist them in their walking. Celia and Cath are the two group leaders so will always personally assist anyone needing an extra hand. It’s a totally inclusive group and we welcome anyone whatever their level of fitness and confidence or lack of it.
We walked and then retired to the Beefeater pub where we had previously reserved a space for refreshments afterwards. This was probably the best bit of all where members sat back, relaxed, and chatted together. It really was a lovely atmosphere with people getting to know each other better, exchanging ideas about what was happening and just generally feeling less lonely on a Sunday afternoon.
