The June walk took us through woodland and around Langold Lake in the Country Park. It was a lovely blue sky day with a few clouds and a pleasant breeze.
The goslings belonging to the Greylag Geese are now growing up fast. There was a pair of swans with some small cygnets in tow who were rather cute.
15 of us attended and later had lunch at the Grey Horses Inn which was very good.

Our walk for July was held in Retford taking in King's Park and the Chesterfield Canal
The group met in Morrisons car park. Following the usual toilet visits and walk briefing we set off along the River Idle path exiting in Kings Park. After admiring the water gardens and rose displays we crossed the bridge back across the river and took steps down to the Chesterfield Canal tow path. Walking to the right we passed a number of canal side properties and a set of lock gates.
Returning along the path back towards Retford we exited the path to walk through the Georgian town centre with it's bustling market and magnificent town hall.
The group returned to Morrisons via the river path and drove to the nearby King and Miller sizzler pub for a well earned lunch.
