At last, our “Simply Singing” group at the St Peter’s in Chains Church has started and what a wonderful turnout with amazing voices!
Chris is an excellent music teacher and we started by singing the well-known song by Abba “I Have a Dream” which everyone sang heartily, followed by “Take Me Home Country Roads” a track by John Denver and a favourite of mine. After followed a short break before being taught some breathing exercises and ending the session with three more songs, “I’m a Believer” by the Monkees, “Obla di, Obla Da” by Marmalade and finally “Bridge Over Troubled Water” by Simon and Garfunkel.
I cannot wait to see everyone at the next session for more music on the 27th October when we have other wonderful singing planned with songs such as “Up on the roof” by the Drifters “Black Velvet Band” by the Dubliners.
